
Lynda DeChane Audette is the Founding Artistic Director of the South Florida Ballet Theater. Borne in Boston, she began her classical ballet training under Madame Ruth Parker as a young child at age 8. Ms DeChane persuades her training under ballet Mistresses Trudol Pinion from the Philippines, Michelle Leo and Columbian dancer Irina Bretcher winner of the Bronze Metal at Varna Competitions. Lynda also studied under Ballet Masters Robert Barnett, Tom Pasic and Ferdinand Nault at Atlanta Ballet and Michael Maule.Ms. De Chane began her career as Ballet Mistress and choreographer in Atlanta in 1985 where she received an Endowment for the Arts grant for her ballet “Once Upon A Childs Dream”, which premiered in Atlanta 1985 and 1986. Ms. DeChane has directed over 31 full-length productions including numerous Nutcracker Ballet Suites, Don Quixote,
The Sleeping Beauty, Peter and the Wolf, Cinderella Ballet’s and La Fille Mal Gardée. As a Ballet Mistress Ms. DeChane has trained many successful dancers who went on to study and perform with North Carolina School for the Performing Arts under Melissa Hayden and Warren Conover, the Orlando Ballet under the direction and guidance of the late Fernando Bujones, North Carolina Dance Theater under Patricia McBride and Jean Pierre Bonnefous, American Ballet Theater, Joffery Ballet and Ballet Hispanico. Ms. DeChane has also won many awards for her costume designs.
