Lynda DeChane-Audette {Artistic Director}

Lynda DeChane-Audette, the Founding Artistic Director of the South Florida Ballet Theater was born in Boston. Beginning her Classical ballet training at the age of 8 Ms. DeChane eventually studied with Ballet Mistress Trudol Pinion, Michelle Leo and Irina Bretcher winner of the Bronze Metal at The Varna Competition. She also studied with such distinguished ballet teachers as Robert Barnett, Tom Pasic, Ferdinand Nault and Michael Maule.

In 1985, while Ballet Mistress at Callenwold in Atlanta, Ms. DeChane received an Endowment for the Arts for her ballet “Once Upon a Child’s Dream.”

Ms. Dechane has directed and presented over 31 full-length ballet productions including numerous Nutcracker Ballet Suites, Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty, Peter and the Wolf, Cinderella Ballet, La Fille Mal Gardee and The Dream and a Gala of The Great Pas de Deux's such as Pas de Quatre, La corsair, Don Quixote and a world premier of Remember Me.
